RECTICEL Announces Shortage of MDI Supplies

In the latest transaction, April 26, 2017, Recticel highlighted the ongoing challenging situation in the polyurethane industry due to the tight supply of isocyanates (TDI and MDI). The prices of raw materials are generally on the rise.

Recticel announced today the subsequent deterioration in the production of MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) as a result of Covestro's new force majeure and problems with starting Huntsman.

As a result, MDI experienced a shortage of supplies. This shortage is affecting Recticel's insulation business and has now cut its 15% production, which is not expected to improve until July 2017.

In 2016, Recticel Insulation Division accounted for 16.4% of the Group's total sales.

Although overall raw material conditions will cause the Group's RBITDA performance to continue to be lower than REBITDA for the same period of last year in the first half of 2017, Recticel will re-launch its full-year guidance in its latest Q1 2017 deal to Expand 2017 full year REBITDA full year results.
